Spring 1
Please see below a brief overview of our learning for Spring 1:
English- the text in Spring term is Floodland by Marcus Sedgwick, a fictional story set in Norwich which has been devastated and cut off from the UK mainland by rising sea levels. We have already recorded some truly excellent pieces of writing based on this text, including informal letter writing, balanced arguments and some truly astonishing narrative disaster stories of our own.
Maths- much of our focus has been algebra and the order of operations as well as long division and multiplying fractions. Methods to remember these like the ones shown below are crucial in children retraining the strategies needed to complete these parts of their mathematical learning.
What a brilliantly active PE half term we have also too, with many of the children proudly representing the school in interschool cross country and athletics tournaments respectively, as well as a superb triumph in winning the cross-school rowing event- well done to everyone that took part!
