Sanatan Dharma
Mulberry Class visited the Shree Krishna Mandir in Leamington Spa
For a second year Mulberry Class were able to visit the Shree Krishna Mandir in Leamington Spa where followers of Sanatan Dharma (Hindu traditions) congregate to worship. The children were thrilled to see some of the Murtis (gods and godesses) that they had been learning about in class. The children learnt about the Murtis and how worship is performed and we were able to make small offerings to the gods. It was a truly interesting trip that made our learning in class come to life.
For the rest of interfaith week the class learnt about celebrating the festival of Diwali including the story of Rama and Sita. We enjoyed making sweets out of condensed milk and coconut which were deliciously sickly sweet.
