Children's Mental Health

At Lapworth CE Primary School, we are committed to supporting the development of positive mental health and wellbeing in children and young people.  The following websites and resources provide a wealth of information designed to help children and their families when they are struggling with their mental health.

In school, all classes from Year 1 upwards, have Mental Health Ambassadors, who have been trained to support peer mental health and wellbeing following a recommendation from the Department for Education, NICE and the Department of health in the UK.  All year groups, (including Reception) have access to a, 'Communication Monster' where children are able to write down any concerns or worries and they will then receive support from a trusted adult.

In addition, as a school we have access to the, 'Mental Health in School's Team' who can support young people who are experiencing low mood and a range of anxiety difficulties.  If you feel your child would benefit from a referral, please have a look at the website https://cwrise.com/mhst/ and speak with your child's class teacher who can help organise a referral.
