Summer 1
The Summer Term is here, the final term not just of the academic year, but of Oak Class' time at Lapworth!
Our overarching topic of Crime & Punishment is a fascinating, engaging and, at times, slightly jaw dropping unit, which we will cover in History, but also within our English learning, where Louis Sachar's book 'Holes' will play a prominent part in our writing.
In Maths, we will be focusing on Statistics, including line graphs and pie charts, as well as measures and conversions. Daily focus on the four operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division will also take place.
Our new Science unit is Evolution & Inheritance, including focusing on the work of Charles Darwin, whilst in DT, we will be using the electricity knowledge and skills learnt in last term's Science and apply them to our Electrical Systems unit, as we build a stable structure to create our own miniature fairground ride, complete with a circuit that enables motion.
