Computing

Within an ever developing technological world, Lapworth Primary School understands and values to importance of teaching children computing from a young age.

Our computing curriculum offers children the opportunity to explore the three strands of computer science, information technology and digital literacy enabling them to repeatedly re-visit concepts and build on them as they move through the school. Children follow the Purple Mash Computing programme that supports teachers in delivering fun and engaging lessons which help to raise standards and allows pupils to achieve to their full potential. Children have access to Purple Mash in school and at home which supports a continued approach to developing independence across each of the three key areas of Computing.

Computing has links with all other areas of the curriculum which allows for ample opportunities to incorporate technology into their wider curriculum learning; including research, supporting their topic focus and creating digital content in an age appropriate way.
