Curriculum

We have shaped our curriculum based on children’s interests and love of immersive learning taught through an overarching theme. This has enabled us to develop three main topic themes (Years 1-6) and six topic themes in EYFS that are underpinned by our English curriculum across the year.

Our cohesive curriculum is one that motivates and engages our pupils, one that is relevant to modern day life and to the children living in Lapworth and Britain today. Our key values of peace, friendship, forgiveness and respect, as well as our British Values, are embedded throughout the curriculum and these provide the golden thread which is weaved throughout all we do.

We aim for our curriculum to:

  • Provide rich and inspirational experiences which engage children and give a purpose for learning.
  • Enable cross curricular opportunities that allow children to make meaningful links to the wider world.
  • Provide opportunities for children to develop their skills within a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Ensure that all children are prepared for the next stages of their education.
