Welcome back to a very short half term. We continue with our current topic of Stone age to Iron age man this week where the children will be looking in detail at daily life for the people that lived during the iron age. We investigate a round house and design and construct a mini house of our own.
Literacy looks at the one of Britain's famous explorers. Children will have to piece together given evidence to work out who it could be and where they have been. They will then have to investigate and write a non chronological report this week and will be looking at synonyms in our grammar lesson.
Numeracy focusses on written methods of multiplication. Children will be using compact methods to calculate answers to four digits multiplied by one and then two digits. Later in the week we children will be multiplying decimals and amounts of money, then applying these skills to solve problems.
You will see that we start our new behaviour reward system throughout the school this week. Children will be explained this in an assembly on Monday and we hope this will reward many children who have impeccable manners and are thoughtful and kind to others.
Mon: New behaviour rewards launched, swimming
