This week we will be reading the story of the Tempest. The children will look at the vocabulary and plot. They will also study the characters and hidden messages. In grammar we focus on being able to use standard English.
Numeracy this week continues with angles. he children will be calculating angles of a triangle and drawing angles accurately so that they can construct shapes. By the end part of the week we should have moved on and will bee analysing data that is represented in line graphs.
Last week we made coil pots from clay. This week we will be painting them; look on our web page next week for photos.
As you are aware the children started a new spelling scheme last week and this has worked well. Ten of the children's words come from the work that they have been covering that week in class during our spelling sessions. Spelling sessions are delivered daily and last approximately 20 minutes.
Monday: Swimming - Year 5 only. Spelling test and new words given
Tuesday: Outdoor PE. Maths homework
Wednesday: Indoor PE
Friday: Literacy and Numeracy homework given
Please can I remind you that children should be reading regularly at home and this should be recorded in the homework diary. Children who regularly read and record this are rewarded in school.
