This week in our Literacy lessons we will be looking at Captain Scott and how he started his adventure across the ice. The children will be writing an advert for men willing to go to the South Pole. The children will then write a letter responding to the advert and will form interview panels to judge the applicants letters that the children themselves have written. Our grammar lesson will be on synonyms.
Numeracy this week focuses on algebra. The children will look at patterns in number and shape sequences and will be asked to generate nth terms and write the rules of the sequences using algebra.
We start our new topic of Britain from the air this week. This involves a lot of map work and the children this will be looking at the UK and locating points of interest. We will be looking at Google Earth, atlases and ordinance survey maps.
