This week in literacy we will be looking at a silent film called Alma. The children will be predicting events in the story as they arise. They will also need to use inference and deduction skills to interpret the hidden messages within the film. The children will putting this story into their own words where we focus on descriptive language and paragraphing. Our grammar lesson this week focuses on antonyms.
Numeracy lessons are on division. The children will be using short and long division to solve problems and will be required to convert remainders into fractions or decimals as well as knowing when you need to round up or down.
Topic lessons move from stone age man to bronze and iron age man and what life was like for these people. I have sent a letter home regarding St Johns museum coming in for the day to work with the class. The children will take place in various workshops and will construct a roundhouse.
