Picture 1
Picture 2

The best way to support your child to become a lifelong reader is to read every day and a range of different text types, including fiction, non fiction and poetry. When reading with your child it is importance to ask questions to support their understanding of the text. There are a range of printable resources at home to support with questioning and comprehension.

For support with phonics, reading and spelling please watch the video on the link below:

https://www.phonicbooks.co.uk/2011/03/13/how-to-say-the-sounds-of-letters-in-synthetic-phonics/

The video will explain to parents how to help their child correctly decode when reading and also sound out unfamiliar spellings using the correct pronunciation of sounds as taught in school.
