Free School Meals
Reception, Year 1 and 2
If your child is in Saplings, Ash, or Beech, they automatically qualify for Universal Infant Free School Meals. However, we still strongly encourage you to apply for benefits related Free School Meals if you are eligible. Doing so secures vital extra funding for the school and ensures your child keeps receiving free meals beyond Year 2.
Other school years
If you receive a qualifying benefit, free school meals are available for:
- pupils at any school maintained by the authority (including a sixth form attached to a maintained school)
- pupils attending maintained nurseries, as long as they are attending before and after lunch. Free school meals are not available to children attending private nurseries
